When I walked into the West Eleven salon for their brand photoshoot, I could feel the energy—uplifting, collaborative, grounded. It’s the kind of place where the light hits just right, where laughter lives in the corners, and where every guest leaves feeling just a little more themselves. That energy comes from its people—like Helen, one of the founding owners and a hairstylist who’s been bringing out beauty and confidence in her clients for over 12 years.
Meet Helen of West Eleven
“My name is Helen. I’m a hairstylist and salon owner in Leamington, Ontario,” she told me when we sat down to talk about the brand she’s building. “I’ve been passionate about hair since I was a little girl. Even now, it feels like I’m living out my childhood dream.”
That dream has turned into something much bigger—West Eleven is now a full-service salon offering hair services, manicures, pedicures, facials, body contouring, lymphatic drainage, massage, and a Japanese head spa experience. But the mission goes deeper than services.
“I know how a little hair change can boost your inner confidence,” Helen said. “And I love that every client who walks in leaves feeling great.”
The Vision Behind the Brand
There wasn’t one big “aha” moment that sparked the business. “It was a series of doors opening—opportunities from God,” Helen shared.
And sometimes, that’s exactly how meaningful things begin: slowly, intuitively, with faith. West Eleven is a space born out of courage, timing, and connection.
Helen and Judi started this business barely knowing each other, and over time became not just business partners in a growing, thriving salon—but lifelong friends. Together, they’ve built a space that feels like community and care.
When I asked Helen what’s helped her grow as both a stylist and a new business owner, her answer was immediate: “People. My business partner, our staff—I’m constantly learning something from them.”
Teamwork and perseverance have been her foundation. “There will be growing pains,” she said. “But don’t get discouraged. And don’t look back to when things were ‘easy.’”
